Historical Iron Hammer Works of 1779
Historical Iron Hammer Works of 1779 The kurtz ersa Group originated from a water-driven iron hammer dating back to 1779. It is located in Hasloch on the Main river in the Spessart - the most extensive unbroken forest in West Germany. It is still working the same way it did nearly 230 years ago and is an active industrial monument. In the hammer building there are two water-driven hammers and a box blower which is water-driven as well. These units are still producing various forged elements, most of all clappers for church bells which are manufactured to an incredible precision (± 2mm).
