The roots of Kurtz date back to 1779 to the water-driven iron hammer, which still operates today as an industrial monument. The core competence of the 230 year-old Kurtz company has adapted over the years from a blacksmith to foundry to machine manufacturing.

Today, Kurtz GmbH and their trademark kurtz stand for solutions in particle foam and foundry machinery as well as cast products. The Business Segment Metal Components incorporates the product range of foundry machines as well as castings of  grey cast iron, nodular iron and aluminium casting. Whereas the Busines Segment Moulding Machines covers machines for the processing of particle foam materials with Kurtz being a leading supplier in this sector.

Kurtz GmbH operates an iron foundry with grey and graphite metals, an aluminium foundry providing low-pressure, tiltable, and gravity casting technology, offers machining as job-order production, builds aluminium low-pressure, tiltable and gravity casting machines and produces pre-expanders, shape molding machines, blockmoulds and cutting plants for particle foam processing.
